Licensing in other states

Life settlements are regulated state by state, and many states require the broker to be licensed where the policyowner lives. Additional state licenses upon request, subject to applicable state requirements. If you or your client live outside Florida, contact us before proceeding so we can confirm the licensing requirements for that state.

Based on the company's review, the following states do not currently appear to have a comprehensive life settlement broker licensing framework: Alabama, Wyoming, South Dakota, Michigan, Missouri, South Carolina, New Mexico. This is the company's own assessment, not a legal determination. Rules can change, so confirm current requirements with the state insurance regulator before transacting. State-by-state information is on our life settlements by state pages.

Who we serve

Accelerated Life Solutions works with financial professionals, including financial advisors, wealth managers, CPAs, estate planning attorneys, trustees, and insurance agents, and directly with individual life insurance policyowners. When a policyowner works with an advisor, we can coordinate with that advisor throughout the review.

Broker compensation

Broker compensation is determined case by case, considering the circumstances and economics of each transaction, and is always disclosed before the transaction is finalized. Compensation is structured to support successful transactions while staying transparent with the appropriate parties. Applicable compensation and transaction costs are disclosed in accordance with governing state laws and transaction documentation.

Our guiding principle: “A transaction is never lost due to compensation.” Learn more in life settlement broker fees and compensation.

Important disclosures

  • Not every policy qualifies for a life settlement. Eligibility and outcomes depend on policy characteristics, insured health, premiums, underwriting, and market conditions.
  • A life settlement may produce more than the policy's cash surrender value, but results vary by case. A free evaluation shows whether a policy may have secondary-market value.
  • Qualified submissions may receive a preliminary valuation within approximately 24 hours after sufficient initial information has been received. Overall timeline varies with underwriting complexity, documentation availability, buyer requirements, and carrier processing. Estimated closing and funding timelines are communicated as the transaction progresses. No fixed completion date is guaranteed.
  • Calculator results and other online estimates are illustrative only and are not offers or appraisals.
  • Case studies are hypothetical illustrations unless labeled otherwise. Individual results vary.
  • A life settlement may affect eligibility for means-tested government benefits and may have tax consequences. Proceeds may be taxable; consult a qualified tax professional. Transactions are generally reported on IRS Form 1099-LS.
  • Selling a policy ends the policyowner's coverage unless a retained death benefit is negotiated. Consider whether the coverage is still needed before selling.
  • Policyowners generally have rescission rights after signing a life settlement contract; the length of the period depends on state law.
  • Accelerated Life Solutions does not provide legal, tax, or investment advice.
